kinder Ground is a playful and whimsical modular carpet that truly brings out the designer in you. We had the pleasure of seeing the collection at IDS Toronto earlier this year and our imagination simply went wild. While kinder Ground was designed with children in mind, we definitely see it used by people of all ages, from homes to fun workspaces.
The New York based company came up with the idea for modular, contemporary, design-driven carpet from designing kids spaces. What makes their first collection so unique besides the fun colours and patterns, is the innovative shapes. No more rectangles! The collection features triangles, hexagons and diamonds that all interact with each other to create endless possibilities.
We continued to ask ourselves why rugs had to be the typical rectangle square, or circle shape and we found out… they didn’t. kinder Ground was born.

“The initial design process involved experimenting with a myriad of shapes and quickly grew into a fun geometry project: a puzzle solved through design”, shares kinder Ground. The carpet system offers 37 designs available in three different shapes so you will never run out of ideas. Each shape is available in at least six unique patterns and five solid colours.
The best part is that if you ever get tired of the current design and need a change, you can simply interchange the tiles, or add more for a completely new look. Who knew carpet can be so fun!
kinder Ground rugs are hand tufted in Shanghai by high skilled rug artisans who hand carve and cut out the signature designs in a high/low cut carpet pile, making sure they are soft, high quality and durable.
