We have featured the Exocet Chair in our top picks from IDS15 Toronto earlier this year, and we had to share more images of this inspiring design in case you did not have a chance to see it at the show. The Exocet Chair is the first piece of furniture created by Montreal based Stéphane Leathead, designer and creative director of Designarium. At first glance you can appreciate the beauty of its form and clean lines, however only after you see how versatile it is, you can fully grasp the cleverness behind the design.
The core of the chair is what makes Exocet so versatile. The core acts as a hinge for the identical slats, allowing users to change its shape with no effort. The chair can be repositioned in standing, lounging and sitting positions. The form simply seems to hug the body in every configuration.
Exocet is accompanied by the NYCTALE Table that uses the same clever approach and opens up to double its serving surface. Both designs are currently pending patent.
Exocet will also be present at WantedDesign in New York in May. If you have the chance to see it let us know your thoughts.
How would you use Exocet?
