Twee T. is a system of lamps inspired by the past tradition of canary in homes by Jake Phipps for Italian brand Casamania. The canary presence inside homes has been traced all the way back to Egyptian and Roman civilization, while in the Middle Age and English court was considered an upbringing sign to have them in lounges.
Jake Phipps and Casamania transforms a high-ranking status british icon into a contemporary lamp-object. The gold plating cage enhances the status of the symbol, an elegant intervention to the delicate design. The little birds are made of BOSA hand decorated ceramics, black painted or plated in 24 carat gold; the structure of metal rod black painted or gold plated in the total gold version.
The LED lighting fixture is on the base of the cage, covered by a double polycarbonate shielding, that on the one hand illuminates the room and on the other hand illuminates the inside of the cage. The enchanting lamp comes in two different sizes and colours.
