At this year’s Milan Design Week, German brand Ingo Maurer introduced the whimsical Toto, a “light bulb with ears” as an homage to Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse. Toto is part of the Ricchi Poveri collection, a tribe of small, unassuming lamps.
The minimalist design features a simple light bulb with a cap. The cap is available in black, white or plain brass. Toto stands 53 cm tall and comes with a 24-volt transformer and a rectangular base. The lamp will start shipping in October 2014.
The Ricchi Poveri models are fitted with specially manufactured 24-volt light bulbs, of the type familiar from Lucellino, which correspond approximately to the EEC C standard.
Facts:
Light source: Halogen 35 W, socket E27.
Technical data: For 230 or 125 volts, secondary 24 volts.
Colours: Hat in black, white or brass.
