The time it takes – A short movie dedicated to Enzo Catellani

To mark the launch of Catellani & Smith’s new website, Giorgio Oppici created a short movie dedicated to Enzo Catellani’s vision, in the unique working space where he creates his lamps. “The time it takes” introduces viewers to the fascinating world of the Italian lighting manufacturer Catellani & Smith.

When I create a lamp, I always start off with a prototype; my laboratory is a workshop where I continually accumulate materials, components and objects of all different kinds; and this is where everything was born… I assemble, weld, bend, shape… I need to feel the materials, to see how they play with light.
