The Morpholio Project Announces Pinup2014 Winners

The Morpholio Project has recently announced the winners for the Pinup2014 online competition. Pinup2014 was created as a means to publicly promote the research, exploration and investigation currently happening amongst today’s emerging talent. This year, with special thanks to the support of Shapeways, Pinup2014 is also announcing Shapes Future Awards winners for explorations in 3d printing.

For Snow Angel, I feel like a lot of flow (in terms of form) can be lost in 3D printing. It’s easy to create something uber functional and boxy, but beautiful, curvy architecture isn’t something you see a whole lot of in 3D printing. Gorgeous.

Fiberwave pavilion is a smart research on the potential of carbon fiber and other lightweight material composites in architectural production. Form is the result of an extensive analysis of material properties and desired phenomelogical effects.
