Amsterdam-based start-up Pikaplant has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their latest project, an automatic house plant watering tray that makes it easy for anyone to grow healthy indoor plants. Tableau mimics the natural wet-dry cycle of groundwater, for healthier plants. True to nature, its ebb-and-flow irrigation system uses zero electricity. Tableau will run on Kickstarter until May 31st, 2015 hoping to raise €80,000. Back up the project here!
We want to make plantkeeping so easy that anyone can do it. We believe greener living is better living, and we think everyone should be growing herbs, crops, and beautiful plants everywhere. That’s why we started Pikaplant, and that’s why we created Tableau.
– Pikaplant team
Tableau applies the second generation of the technology used in the One vertical garden to water up to four plants on your table, counter, desk, or window sill. The One vertical garden was recently named Best of Milan Design Week 2015.
Designed in the Netherlands, the minimalist aesthetic lets the plants take center stage. Pikaplant uses basic materials like glass, steel and ceramics in a sleek design that brings tranquility into your home or work space.
Watering plants with Tableau couldn’t be easier. The reservoir is easy to lift and refill and contains enough water to water three plants for around a month. By watering plants from below, the plants decide how much water they need.
See more information on Tableau on their official Kickstarter page, and don’t forget to back up the project for a greener lifestyle. Pikaplant raised almost €40,000. Make your pledge until the 31st!
