The interior architecture was designed in close collaboration with Indian-Lebanese siblings Maya, Meena and Zeenat Mukhi and Rabih Geha Architects (RG/A) were challenged with interpreting and reflecting the organic aesthetic of the sisters’ jewellery design whilst providing a modernist, luxurious showroom to act as the brands first flagship store.
The Mukhi Sisters gave RG/A freedom to interpret their brand for this new store, distilling the key ethos of jewellery reflecting Romantic Nature, Mystical Enchantment and Magical Forests. RG/A’s vision is regularly intersected with the demands of their clients combined with the modern world. Stories remain at the forefront of their design, creating spaces for people to inhabit, work, play and experience.
Inspired by the different industries that the Mukhi elders have worked within, the narrative of the three sisters and their family history has been brought together to form an inviting space and a warm backdrop to display their high-end pieces. Providing a contemporary store front to the rich and historic oriental façade of the Municipality Beirut building, the 50-square-metre store showcases a minimalist, undeviating design perfectly emphasising the jewellery and encapsulating the brand’s ethos and creative aesthetic.
Linear structures form the basis of the interior design with understated black steel and glass cabinets cocooning the rare jewels, away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets outside. The design mirrors the inspiration behind the collections whereby minimal meets seductive and the prominence remains on the beauty of the colours and materials used within the work.
The center of store is filled by a synonymously designed black rectangular table with steel square legs showcasing bracelets, rings and pendants. The parquet flooring and gold track lighting finish off the sleek space and further accentuate the feeling of lightness within the store.
The design of the Mukhi Sisters flagship store came intuitively after meeting with the wonderful Mukhi sisters and listening to them talk about the birth of their brand and the concept behind their collections. It was an absolute pleasure Working On this project.

By capturing the jewellery style of Maya, Meena and Zeenat, RG/A has created an alternative Mukhi Sisters universe where the language and attitude of the brand is reflected by the surrounding environment.
