Italian manufacturer Bonaldo has recently launched a new version of its famous Poly chair, designed by Karim Rashid in 2007. Poly, originally named after ‘polycarbonate’, the material used to make the chair, is now available in two new versions: Poly XO and Poly XOXO.
Poly XO is entirely upholstered with fabric, leather and eco-leather covers, while Poly XOXO features a two-tone upholstery where one colour can be applied to the front and the other to the rear and legs. The two-tone effect enhances the geometry of the chair, creating a stunning optical illusion effect.
The seat and backrest are built of several criss-crossing surfaces, without making the chair appear too edgy. The upholstered versions add a level of warmth and youthful aesthetic.
