London-based photographer Rosangela Borgese of Rosangela Photography captures the essence of the newly opened IDDU Sicilian Cafe and Wine Bar: a mix of Sicilian vibrancy, metropolitan style and social atmosphere. Her photography creates a storyline that visually transports you to the chic eatery by capturing the culture and feel of the Sicilian coffee house. None of the images feel staged, with many of them showcasing vibrant textures, mouth-watering artisan breads and classic Sicilian dishes.
To capture the convivial, social atmosphere of IDDU (an important part of its ode to Sicilian culture), the composition of many photographs is intended to make the images feel full and rich, using lots of props and bright natural lighting.

The wide-angle shots make you feel as if you just stepped in IDDU and you are about to have an authentic Sicilian experience.
In addition, an array of props was selected and shots were carefully angled to show all that the caffè and wine bar offers to customers: local Sicilian wines and coffee, artisanal breads, and classic Sicilian dishes made of fresh, healthy ingredients.

Close up shots reveal the rustic yet contemporary details of the interior design. The bronze industrial pendants and sconces contrast against the white cabinets, creating a home-like interior. The more contemporary seating adds a pop of colour to the space and offer a sense of comfort and laid-back atmosphere.
Candid photography of staff members introduce customers to the IDDU family, emphasizing the cafe and wine bar’s elegant yet laid-back ambience. Unique potted plants are highlighted throughout the photos as an important part of IDDU’s branding, and its connection to the rich Sicilian culture.
From the complexity of photographic compositions to the depth of colours and layers, this series of images is all about embracing the vivacity and cultural richness of IDDU’s Sicilian flavour—sprinkled, of course, with a dash of Mediterranean elegance and metropolitan style.
