The lack of design programs outside the PC realm has posed a challenge to an industry that is in constant change and always connected to technology. Morpholio has been constantly changing how designers use programs to bring their concepts and ideas to life, and more important, they made it accessible to the mobile world. With the announcement of the iPad Pro and Pencil, Morpholio stepped up and launched the Board Pro app exclusively for iPad Pro. Now you can use the popular app with the flexibility the iPad Pro brings.
From Morpholio:
Product libraries, production tools and presentation have always been completely disconnected in the interior designer’s office. Material and furniture libraries can no longer keep track of the rapidly changing amount of finishes and options available and digital libraries can be difficult to navigate and overwhelming. The question nobody can answer is; why has the software industry ignored interior design for so long? One major reason was that the hardware was never quite right. Screen real estate, ease of use, precision and horsepower had been missing until now in mobile platforms. That changes today with Apple’s introduction of the iPad Pro and Pencil. Most creatives, and interior designers in particular, work with large drawings, detail, real texture and color simultaneously. They need a fluid and flexible platform to create, test, and share ideas.
To accomplish this, we need new ways of working, not lite versions of complex desktop programs. Imagine if your iPad could combine a curated product library, smart graphic tools and the ability to easily share and present. What if a cut sheet was not just a static image pinned to a board but a gateway to infinite resources and further details? The design board no longer has to be a set of isolated .jpgs or sheets of paper. The future is an image that looks like an image, yet is actually a live file, that links to sources, gives you feedback like shopping lists, and can be edited in real time, while you discuss it with your client or team. The world has never been fed more visual content, and we need tools to employ these pieces into something meaningful, or we risk stockpiling for a storm that never comes. Our ability to innovate, discover and create from the wealth of material on Pinterest, One King’s Lane, and other popular feeds does not exist without fast, easy tools that can help shape it into real designs.
Today, Morpholio introduces Board Pro, which delivers the skill, fluidity and pleasure of the designer’s iconic presentation board fused with the intelligence, flexibility and curation of Pinterest. It is a timeless design tool re-imagined to combine the creative benefits of working by hand, with the power of digital magic. From the comfort of your sofa or while moving through a showroom, you can capture incredible products, sketch details or notes, and beautifully convey the story of a space or concept. Board Pro fights back against the overwhelming digital library with a carefully curated gallery searchable by color, company, and product type. To achieve this, Morpholio collaborated with the biggest and brightest names in interior design to feature over 1000 classic, fresh and cutting edge products.
Technology’s promise was always to make life easier and smarter and these tools are delivering in a big way for designers. The majority of interior designers are sole practitioners or boutique firms, and they need tools that save valuable time, provide access to great sources, can be easily edited, and allow them to produce from anywhere with ease. Board Pro was created by designers for a world of design enthusiasts. If you design, collage, draw, pin, or blog-you will want to “Board”.
