Internationally renowned company Artifort, together with designer René Holten, created a sleek upholstered bucket seat with five different bases, four different styles of upholstery, and a great selection of colours and fabric options. The Mood chair portrays itself as the ideal dining chair that can adapt itself to any interior style.
I feel privileged to be able to work as a designer for an internationally-renowned company like Artifort. On the one hand, the designs I produce link up with the wonderful history of the company, while on the other hand they express my personal vision of the future of Artifort by giving shape to designs that are in keeping with current trends and hopefully remaining current well into the future. It is my goal to produce designs that are able to stand the test of time like so many other classics, and that will offer many customers a long period of enjoyment in their homes and other environments.
Viewed from the front, the Mood seat seems to be made of two parts, however it is just an illusion strengthened by the upholstery in contrasting colours. The Mood seat uses a special upholstery technique that pads the entire seat with foam as whole. The illusion is created on the inside of the seat, giving the impression that the backrest is made of two parts. The same technique is also used to create an optical boundary between the backrest and the seat.
The design is available in four different types of upholstery, three of which are available in all the standard colours and fabrics Artifort carries. Users can pick from a single-fabric option, two-fabric top/bottom option, a two-fabric inside/outside option, and a special leather upholstery version with accentuated stitching. The accentuated stitching version is only available in Ohmann Mistro.
The five different bases available for the Mood are the ones that really bring the design to life. The wire frame base and wood frame with pastel upholstery seating is ideal for a Scandinavian design interior. The steel disk-shaped creates a chair suitable for a subtle and elegant interior. The four-toed strip and five-toed strip makes the Mood chair ideal for office spaces. All five bases are available in a large variety of finishes.
