The Italian company DesignYouEdit developed a multipurpose shelving system that revolutionizes the ability to shape different spaces by exploiting the natural phenomenon of magnetism. The Magnete system is based on a simple combination of magnetic items on metal panels that you can rearrange at any time, without the traditional hassle of screws and additional hanging systems.
The system is made out of two main components: steel panels and elements with magnetic base. The steel panels come in various shapes and sizes and can be recessed or left exposed. The elements are made out of metal, wood or polycarbonate and come in a variety of colours.
The magnetic field is exerted only on the side in contact with the pannelling, so the shelf is isolated and screened. There is no interference with electronic systems and no risk to demagnetize credit cards or badges.
The elements themselves come in a variety of shapes and sizes suitable for every space.
Rising Moon: Componible mirror system (design Diego Collareda);
Polimino Shapes: Cubes an rectangles, available in different size, that can be combined to create several library systems (design Diego Collareda);
Geometric Panels: Magnetic panels in various geometric shapes (design Diego Collareda);
Branch: A magnetic hanger that can be applied on every metal surface (design Diego Collareda);
Polygons: A metal strip base with a sinuous shape, finished woth different materials (design Marco Fumagalli);
Myshelf: Magnetic shelves, they can be positioned and repositioned creating infinite compositions.
