After the successful launch of his first project the “H-Chair” at the Interior Design Show (IDS14) in Toronto, multidisciplinary designer Kyle Megill is now launching a clock designed to connect you with raw natural materials. Named SAU after the Norwegian word for ‘sheep’, SAU is a new concept of an old-age ritual that connects people and time. The project was just launched on Kickstarter where you can back it up until the 14th of October. See more details and back it up now!
Ideal as a meaningful gift, SAU gives the opportunity to personalize or brand your time piece. A raw porcelain strip on SAU.’s back-face gives you a place to put a unique mark on SAU. – giving it a unique identity.
Although SAU. is more than just a standard clock, we spared no expense when finding and incorporating one of the best time keeping movements on the market. We’ve powered the heart of SAU. with a Seiko quartz movement.
– Kyle Megill
The minimalist design consists of a 9″x9″ and 1.5″ thick piece of raw wood, stylishly finished with a 3 mm tick natural wool felt. Because of the nature of the materials used, no two clocks will be exactly the same.
Kickstarter now offers the Classics collection featuring 3 monochromatic shades of natural wool felt (Light Wool, Ash Gray & Charcoal), and a Limited Edition vibrant red colour.
The Limited Edition is exclusive to Kickstarter, consisting of only 100 hand numbered pieces, and will not be available once the campaign ends.
