The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) awarded J. Cho Design with the annual Award of Merit for the design of “Made in Italy” laminate company, Abet Laminati, headquarter office.

The ARIDO Award is a platform to recognize and award registered members of their excellence, innovation and originality in the interior design field.

From J.Cho Design:

J. Cho Design was approached with the challenge to showcase Abet’s products throughout their 2,200 sq.ft of office space in the most unusual and unexpected ways. The concept is to leave a strong impression through a client’s physical and visual experience on the different applications of Abet’s materials on the floor, walls and even table legs are a few to name.

Besides Abet’s well known high quality products, their angled chip sample board is another iconic feature of theirs and was the team’s inspiration. Using only blue toned colour laminate chips hung by their corners, the design team created a curved feature wall to the reception area welcoming and leaving a strong first impression to the arriving clients.

Each area prides and boasts on their own unique application and characteristics of Abet’s products. The stairwell illustrates how one material can be used from the wall to floor to their custom hand rail, all seamlessly blending together but all with different functions. The back lit perforated Silent wall of office one, the reflective diamond patterned wall in office two, the geometric 3 dimensional red feature wall in conference room, the custom designed starburst inspired conference table legs are few other examples to name exhibiting the different usage of Abet’s products.

This project allowed J. Cho’s team to experiment with Abet’s exclusive products and design their heart’s content. In return, the team was able to deliver a creative and unique headquarter office for Abet Laminati.
