figure3 has recently designed the new Inscape Toronto flagship showroom as a multi-functional environment that can be used as a showroom, office, co-working and even training space.
The welcoming nature of the showroom is evident from the moment you step in by drawing you in through clever design elements that are carried throughout the space. Walking straight in from the elevator into what figure3 calls the Decompression Space, visitors are drawn in by low ceiling and a carefully placed angled wall, making it seem as if the showroom is ‘almost giving you a hug and releasing you into the space’.
The entrance opens up into the kitchen/café area that uses the same language as the Decompression Zone. The ceiling is once again brought down to create a more intimate atmosphere, and an informal experience for their clients. Beyond its slick appearance, the area pays ode to the company’s roots as a case goods company by using its own storage system as cabinetry, and thus showing the products’ versatility and adaptability. Live plants complement and contrast the acoustical Armstrong WOODWORKS Grille, concrete floors and streamline cabinetry.
Throughout the showroom, the technology is integrated seamlessly with hidden microphones, speakers and remote control devices allowing for flexible presentation and training scenarios.
The main boardroom or ‘Un-boardroom’ as Inscape likes to call it, is once again a step out of the traditional office environment. Encased in their ACME 50 glass wall for a sense of transparency, but with the ability to easily transform into a private space with the use of curtains, there is nothing traditional about this meeting space.
The conference table is built out of several meeting tables that support their ‘O’ Legs system and paired with Fan Lounge Chairs. This allows for easy re-configuration by clustering them into different zones , make it adaptable to any meeting scenario.
Close to the boardroom, the open meeting area featuring a coffee table and collaborative chairs, create a sense of intimacy. Standing height tables have been added to allow for versatility in use. Throughout the open space, individual zones with various seating options and a variety of workstations, showcase the entire range of possibilities using Inscape’s products.
Hidden behind the Decompression Space, the Library is a collaborative and creative area.
Surrounding a small informal seating area, are lockers with display cabinets, a magnetic wall and a peg board that allows for brainstorming sessions and easy display of concepts.
A standing table showcases all the finishes available for Inscape’s products.
Within the large open space, figure 3 introduced several private spaces. The ‘Grotto’, a tiny private room intended for phone calls, meditation and other private moments, becomes a colourful focal point within an otherwise monochromatic landscape. Using their Reform Dichroic Treatment, the colourful window film shows the capabilities of Inscape’s glass wall system.
The fully enclosed private office uses once again the Reform wall solution, this time showcasing glazed hinged doors, tubular pull handles and muntins.
Inside, the office displays the Laminate Casegoods potential by integrating a credenza, wardrobe towers and wall mounted over-heads cabinets. The Electric Standing Height Table with modesty panels creates a contrast against the back painted glass whiteboard and planters.
The entire showroom features the Laminate Casegoods as an elegant seating and storage solution alongside the perimeter window wall, encouraging visitors to take in the stunning Toronto views.
The panoramic glass facade in the space allows the opportunity for a quaint corner that features views of Lake Ontario while sitting at their standing height tables supported by the ‘O’ Legs system.
Aligning themselves with partners that share the same vision, it was to no surprise that Inscape teamed up with ArtLifting by showcasing meaningful art pieces throughout the space. Known to connect people with impacted by disabilities with the art community and socially conscious companies, Scott Benner’s artwork, through ArtLifting, makes the space more personable.
