New York design agency HUSH had designed an interactive audiovisual installation that lets users create their own unique composition of light and sound. Titled Lenses, the installation uses a series of prisms that are used to bend and reflect light, accompanied by a custom software that translates the movements into sound.
We created an interactive audiovisual installation that uses prisms, light and sound to represent the interplay of ideas between our designers, architects, musicians, and technologists.

By arranging the prisms across a surface designed to bend and reflect light, users build a glowing, colorful visual array. This is then read by custom software and translated into sounds in real-time, resulting in a warm, ambient soundscape to accompany the powerful visual composition.

The process of developing “Lenses” internally was just as inspirational for our own team as we hope it is for the outside world. While an internal project, it’s relevant to the way we approach every project, big or small, pushing the boundaries of the physical-digital design process.
