Horm presents QuaDror™ Collection

The new QuaDror™ Collection recently presented at the 2015 Salone del Mobile marks the first collaboration between the Italian manufacturer Horm, and New York based studio Dror led by Dror Benshetrit. QuaDror™ consists of a selection of pieces that features a brilliant versatile structural system that is enhanced by simple and elegant materials.

While he was working on the construction of a frame consisting of two intersecting surfaces, Dror “stumbled” on a fascinating discovery: cut strategically, the two surfaces could be blocked geometrically, forming a powerful union. This discovery led to QuaDror™, a structural element which, when open, creates an independent triangular base: a new form.

From prefabricated houses to noise barriers, from the supporting arches of a bridge to complex architectural structures, QuaDror™ applications are as numerous as its implications: depending on the context, this new form is able to protect, decorate, simplify, support, and surprise.

QuaDror™ structures replace trestle tables and bookshelves, to form a faceted sculpture composed of a series of repetitions of the element, in turn composed of a repetition of four equal geometric surfaces. The details of the system is quite sculptural. The collection includes a side table, two dining tables, a limited edition bookshelf signed by Dror, and a one of a kind sculpture.

The sculptural forms are complemented by the elegant materials used, such as glass, ash and unvarnished hard metal. The combination of the materials alongside the sculptural structure system create a collection of unique pieces.
