Located near Bloemendaal, Netherlands, on the edge of the Kennemer dunes, Villa Bloemendaal is a two story residence designed by i29 interior architects and Paul de Ruiter architects.
With a full focus on sustainability, Home 09 adopts a minimalistic design, where both man and nature are given the deserved respect. The importance of nature in this project is emphasized everywhere from the interior and exterior design, to the choice of materials.
A minimal approach to the materialization and detailing of the building is a core value of both the interior and exterior design.

The floor-to-ceiling windows provide maximum daylight and blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor. To emphasize the importance of nature even further, all interior functions are made from natural materials.
The designers used large pine wood panels throughout the entire house to connect different areas. The wood was used in the form of cabinets, wall panels, sliding doors, bed, and even a fireplace. The creative use of what is normally a basic material against the cold concrete surface, emphasizes once again the fine balance between natural and man made materials.
