Dutch interior design studio i29 interior architects, gave this small apartment, in Amsterdam, NL, a complete makeover. The 45 m² residence was completely renovated due to foundation repairs.
The new layout incorporates all the functions of the house in two custom made wall units. The apartment embraces the natural elements of the pinewood, used as a feature in several custom units. The colour palette was kept to a minimum, as the white walls and white epoxy floor balance the natural wood furniture.
The entrance hall, wardrobe and kitchen equipment were all hidden behind a pinewood wall, to maximize space. On the opposite side, a second wooden wall balances the space. This wall integrates a bench, fireplace and storage.
Anthracite gray was used in the design of the custom table and bench, as well as the fireplace. The simplicity of the design is pulled together through the use of materials, maximizing every m² of the small apartment.
