Hengqin International Financial Center is the kick-off project of Shizimen CBD, which will be the milestone for development of the whole region. Designed by Aedas, this mixed-use high-rise includes office spaces, supporting conference and exhibition facilities, apartments, service facilities and retails.

The project is located in Plot 8 of offshore financial island in Hengqin Block, Shizimen CBD, soon to become the uprising financial district in the megalopolis of Pearl River Delta in future planning.

Incorporating stunning panoramic views, the project faces the landscape axis in Hengqing CBD masterplan to the South, and overlooks Peninsular Macao and Lisboa hotel to the North, with grand sea view and Taipa Island to the East, and is opposite to the booming Zhuhai Eastern New Area to the West. The unique landscape conditions provide great flexibility and advantages for the orientation layout of the building.

The spirally rising volume is reminescent of the well known Chinese idiom flood dragon busting from the sea. In ancient Chinese literature, flood dragon is a mythical creature capable of invoking storms and floods and is often used to describe a newborn power.

Great consideration is given to the sustainable design according to the development strategy of “Landscape Metropolis, Ecological Island City” of Hengqin New Area. The shape and orientation of the tower aims to maximize the stunning views, while the windmill shape of the upper part of the building responds to the major feature of regional climate and ecological living style.
