From lighting to art with VIBIA

Long gone are the days when lighting served one purpose only: that of illuminating. Today lighting is one of the most creative fields blurring the boundaries between technology, architecture, design and art. Barcelona-based lighting manufacturer VIBIA has taken the art of lighting to a whole new level.

Most of VIBIA’s collections allow you to be a part of the design, by customizing the compositions to your heart’s content. We have selected some of their newest collections to delight you with, a blend of highly creative design and innovative technology.

Wireflow Collection

Designed by Arik Levy, Wireflow is one of VIBIA’s most recognizable collections, and for good reason. The sculptural collection reinterprets the classical chandelier  through combinations of enhanced black electrical wires and lacquered metal rods. By using VIBIA’s ‘Create your Product Configuration tool’, you are able to put your creativity to good use and develop your own unique chandelier.

Match Collection

Another collection that allows its users to customize their design is Match, designed by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal. The minimalist design is so simple and elegant, you forget for a minute it is not a sculpture.

Using the product configuration software CREA, Match gives you the possibility to be your own designer, creating webs of black or white structures that seem to grow from the ceiling. The design possibilities are endless.

Cosmos Collection

Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, the Cosmos collection creates a visual optical illusion within the space. A composition of disks coming down from the ceiling use light to draw a fluctuating course like a constellation of stars. The LED technology is seamlessly integrated into the design, with the largest disks creating a half moon effect on the surface.

With different sizes and finishes, the disks (some auto-illuminating, others projecting light), create an enchanting optical illusion of spheres in composition.

Halo Collection

Designed by Martín Azúa, the Halo collection features lightweight elements that appear to float within the space. The collection includes two versions, one that incorporates linear elements, and one circular. The elegant composition appears as a dance in space, creating a subtle and magical lighting that blends naturally in its surroundings.

Set Collection

The Vibia Set, designed by Xuclà, is a play of lights, shadows and lighting and volumetric effects. With endless configurations, the modular lighting systems blends the boundaries between lighting and decor. Movable parts that generate and reflect light on the walls, allow you to create a unique sculptural composition.

Empty Collection

Another collection by Xuclà, Empty acts as outdoor furniture by day, and sculptural light by night. The different sizes allow for creative compositions, while their matte, neutral colours make them integrate naturally into the landscape. The cantilevered polymer cement structures add durability to an elegant solution.
