Stockholm based studio DMOCH designed a set of fun lamps that can be used in a multitude of ways: table or floor mount, strung as pendants, or hung as wall lights.
The starting point of Project Francis was to create lamps in spin formed aluminium. DMOCH collaborated with a craftsman who still does this technique by hand, a craft that only a handful of people in Sweden still practice.
We’re importing poetic and humorous values in to lighting, all from the very start in the process to the end of life of the objects.
– DMOCH
After getting the base shapes from Holger, who worked with the metal parts, the studio began transforming the shapes by pushing and cutting them in different ways.
The lamps can be easily adjusted by moving the shades around on the wood knobs. Shades are connected to eachother via cords, making it easy to adjust and hang. The blue light features a wooden counter weight and a pulley that transforms the light into a sculptural installation.
As a succession to Project Francis, the Teresa Lights were born. The lights available only in white, feature two counterweights in fabric with two different shades, and two pulleys.
