Spanish design brand DSIGNIO has created for Back to 1907, a new design collection closely related to the artistic movements that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century. A truly inspiring period in time, where art and design merge, triggering a real cultural revolution.
The Collage Collection is based on the Suprematism that arose from Malevich`s works, as well as influences from Cubism and Neoplasticism. This movement promoted geometric simplicity, stripping down the design from all ornamentation to reveal simple and forceful shapes.
It is so based on the art that we can say that the final result is halfway between art and design. It is not a sculpture, it is an object resembling a sculpture, a complex collection based on simplicity.
The result Dsignio looked for was to create the visual illusion that these wooden blocks, these geometric shapes, were cut and overlapped each other. To do this they generated several modules to get many different compositions to cover the needs of most users.
Back to 1907 and Dsignio realized the great strength of this collection by adding more elements to accompany it. New objects were born such as a table and dining chair, a sofa with accompanying armchair, an ottoman that can work independently or as a chaise lounge, sideboards, coffee tables, and even carpets.
