Russian brand agency Svoyo mneniye ( ‘Own opinion’ in English), has commissioned za bor architects to design an “unusual and creative space” for their new office. The brand specilizes in package designing, having an impressive portfolio of world famous clients.
One of the main requests of the agency was to incorporate a series of areas dedicated for exhibiting samples. To accommodate the request, the office area space was reduced to only 450 m². The small space did come with some impressive features, such as very high ceilings, original brick walls and huge window apertures.
Being driven to deliver a space that embraces creativity, while dealing with space and budget restrictions, the architects introduced a second level built on metal beams and supports. This newly created area houses a server-based meeting room, the chief manager’s office and a small sports hall.
Most of the walls were cleaned and covered with water repellent for bricks, with one of the meeting rooms covered with long-napped carpet. The architects were involved in custom designing almost all large-size furniture.
The feature piece is a bar counter which also serves as a reception. Other custom made elements include plywood flower holders and cases for samples. Throughout the space the architects used Herman Miller SAYL office chair, while the meeting and bar zone showcase Pedrali and Arper chairs.
