Italian company Axo Light has presented at Euroluce a new set of pendant lights that take inspiration from the traditional Russian dolls. Designed by Dima Loginoff, the Fedora collection consists of a recessed spotlight and five different types of suspension lamps varying from individual pendant to clusters of twelve lights.
The lamps are made of aluminium and glass modelled after the iconic Russian symbol: the Russian dolls.
Although I have been defined ‘the least Russian designer in Russia’, I love this shape and it seems to be in my blood.
– Dima Loginoff
The suspended version is available with one light, a cluster of three, six and twelve lights and a version with seven lights in a line. The elegant touch of glass at the bottom of the pendant breaks up the solid form of the shape and adds an air of lightness.
In this project I decided to combine old and modern. I’m a big fan of minimalism, but sometimes I simply feel that classical forms are perfect to be redesigned and turned into a modern product. Fedora is an old and forgotten Russian name. I love it!
– Dima Loginoff
The sculptural form makes it suitable for both residential and commercial applications with two options for finish: metallic bronze and rose gold.
