Alessi has recently announced additions to Marcel Wanders‘ successful Dressed collection, as well as the debut of Dressed in Wood. The collection revolves around the most important meal of the day, introducing classic items found on the breakfast table.
The Dutch designer focused his attention on the details of the form, applying the classic Dressed pattern in a selective way. An elegant collection that makes breakfast a special daily ritual, wherever you are.
One of the most adorable and stylish additions to the collection is the Dressed egg cup that comes in two different versions: white porcelain and thermoplastic resin available in black, white, red, and yellow. The cup is paired with an ingenious device for lovers of boiled eggs: a spoon with a hammer at one end for cracking the shell with ease.
The collection includes three different pieces of cutlery: a tea spoon, a macchiato spoon, and a butter knife, the latter two featuring a beautiful decoration in relief.
A new white porcelain breakfast plate is cleverly divided into two sections: one for a cup, the other for bread or biscuits.
The jam tray marks the introduction of a new product type for Alessi. In addition, the sugar bowl with spoon, butter dish, and creamer are also made from white porcelain. The jam tray, sugar bowl, and butter dish all have stainless steel lids.
The collection is completed by four sizes of kitchen containers and a biscuit/cookie jar, made from glass and embellished with the iconic Dressed decoration on the surface of the stainless steel lid.
The designer has added a whimsical detail to the inside of the biscuit/cookie jar lid: an alarm bell that goes off every time somebody takes a biscuit.
The new Dressed in Wood collection with natural beech wood elements, features the famous Dressed pattern on all the pieces, in a selective way. The pattern is laser burned and then later finished by hand. The collection is produced by local craftsmen in Valle Strona where the production of this material dates back to the 16th century.
At the beginning of the 21st century all wood production was incorporated in the Alessi catalog and we have increasingly rarely been able to present new projects in this wonderful material. We are therefore very happy to have been able to develop a series of containers, with the help of Marcel and an expert craftsman from the valley, in which the processing of the “Dressed” pattern produces a particularly noteworthy result.

The breakfast board provides ideal compartments for all types of breakfast, while the large serving board is also perfect for serving aperitifs or antipasti. The cheese board and stand are accompanied by a lid in clear thermoplastic resin with a wooden knob. The collection also includes two rectangular trays with rounded corners and a round centerpiece ideal for displaying any type of food.
