Moresque, the new collection of pendant and table lamps by Alessandro Zambelli for Seletti, captures the Moorish charm of the Alhambra. The new collection features clear lines and compact volumes in bold colours and charming filigree patterns.
The slender ribs of architectural Arabesque alternate with bolder bands of colour in a vigorous succession of polychrome, stylized lines. The tones are pastel: orange burnt, pale turquoise, indigo, pistachio green and slate grey.
Both the table lamp and pendant come in two versions: the pendant model comes with a ceiling rose in polychrome decor, size 19 cm H by 7,6 cm diameter. The reading lamp, by contrast, measures 20 cm H by 10 cm diameter. Four-watt LED light bulbs fit the entire collection.
Moresque captures old-world charm and bygone features and gives them a contemporary spin. The result strikes a new balance, in a composition of diverse stylistic elements co-existing in happy harmony. Past and present set aside their irreconcilable conflict and allow themselves to be transformed. Enlightened with new, synergetic strength, they highlight each other’s mix of contrasting features in a design project which becomes a sign of the times.
