High-end clothing store Aïshti collaborative concept titled ‘We Are The People’ is set on the fourth level of their Beirut flagship store.
Designed by contemporary architects RG/A and curated by fashion director Mouna Harati, We Are The People is a place to discover an exclusive selection of Aïshti’s specialty pieces and as the brand describes to “make big fashion statements and start bigger conversations”.
Highlighted as Beirut’s new fashion destination, We Are The People is a community-based, interactive initiative capturing Beirut’s upcoming and dynamic cosmopolitan spirit. RG/A represent a young generation of architects within Lebanon and were therefore sought out to bring the space to life as a vibrant and engaging area, capturing the essence of the characters that will use it.
The space created is ludic in complete visual rupture with the sober ambiance of the Aïshti’ restaurant surrounding it. In contrast, within We Are The People, zigzag lines and colours explode, the in-house designed black, grey and pink pattern spreading from floor to ceiling, fusing the space as a whole. Mirror finished columns generate endless reflections and provide an echoed optical illusion, where lines blur and mirror is mistaken for wall. The clothes and accessories are displayed like mood boards, each following a theme that’s relevant to the current designer collections.
The space is animated with white lacquer display stands, coloured geometric shaped stools and tables which outlines correspond to the created voids in the actual stands. The final result is a playful psychedelic mini concept store displaying the latest design trends and bringing to life the soul and spirit of the Aïshti brand.
